Definition & Purpose
CompTIA Project+ certification is a global credential for project managers, and those who manage projects as part of their job role. Based on best practices of project management, the exam incorporates universal project management principles, and includes important people skills such as conflict resolution, negotiation, communication, team building/leadership, and setting and managing expectations.
Industry research indicates that 74 percent of all projects come in over budget or are overdue, while 28 percent of projects fail altogether. Proper training and certification can significantly reduce these risks because certified professionals have the knowledge to successfully overcome obstacles and complete projects on time and within budget.
The goal of this certification training track is to provide students with all the tools necessary to tackle any Project Management task, regardless of the size or scope of the project or the job field for which it is intended. This training is applicable for such diverse fields as construction, IT, product development, manufacturing, and software development, among others.
In order to achieve CompTIA Project+ certification, the student must pass the following exam:

- Defining Technical Requirements
- Project feasibility
- Risk Assessment
- Creating time and cost estimates
- Writing scope statements, project charters, and a Statement of Work
Project Planning
- Creating a network diagram, project schedules, and project budgets
- Developing resource , risk, communication and quality management plans
- Assemble, build, and support project team
Project Execution
- Calculate earned value
- Execute schedule and budget updates
- Manage the team, quality, and vendors
Project Control
- Interpreting control techniques
Project Closure
- Managing Documentation and Administrative Closure
- Write Project Closure report
